ICWA Webinar Series: ICWA and the Role of Tribal and State Social Workers

The Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) provides minimum Federal standards for the removal of Indian children from their families and placement in foster and adoptive homes. Social workers, both Tribal and State, play a vital role in this process. This webinar is the second in a multipart series organized by the Departments of Justice, Interior, and Health and Human Services concerning the application of ICWA in State and Tribal courts. Panelists with social work expertise will discuss ICWA’s implications for social workers, including the active efforts requirement, placement preferences, cultural considerations in services, transfer, and many other important topics.

There is no tuition charge for this training.
