As a Drupal user (Contributor, Staff, Advanced Staff, Content Administrator) you have the ability to post/edit content based on your granted permissions. BIA Web Team personnel have developed a set of guidelines to adhere to. By having access to the Drupal system, you are agreeing to adhere by these guidelines.
Guidelines
Below you will see that we follow three main guiding principles driven by U.S. Web Standards and Enacted U.S. policies when adding, editing, creating content that is published live on Indian Affairs public facing website.
-
Content Guide
This guide helps writers create content that’s easy to understand and meets people where they are. Government websites often talk at readers rather than to or with them. Government writing tends to describe the government’s concerns that is neither actionable nor understandable.
-
Web Style Guide
This is BIA's style guide. It helps us create clear and consistent content across teams and channels. Please use it as a reference when you’re writing and adding web content for BIA.
-
Accessibility
The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) strives to ensure that people with disabilities have access to the same services and content that are available to people without disabilities, including services and content made available through the use of information technology (IT).
