Regional Director, Western Region
Jessie Durham is the Regional Director for Western Region. She brings nearly three decades of experience in Indian Affairs, including 23 years with the Department of the Interior.
Durham joined the Bureau in 2015 and has held various key positions within the organization, including acting regional director for the Southern Plains Region and deputy regional director for Trust and Indian Services at the Bureau's Eastern Oklahoma Region. She also served as acting associate deputy director for the Office of Trust Services from 2018 to 2019.
Before her tenure at the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Durham was an attorney-advisor in the Office of the Solicitor, representing the Eastern Oklahoma and Southern Plains Regions of the BIA. Prior to joining the Department of the Interior, she was an attorney in the Office of the Attorney General for The Muscogee (Creek) Nation and a trial attorney in private practice.
Durham holds a Juris Doctor in Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a Minor in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma. She is a member of The Muscogee (Creek) Nation of Oklahoma.
