Exercising the delegated authority of the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs
Scott Davis, an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and a descendant of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, is serving as senior advisor to the secretary of the Interior, exercising the delegated authority of the assistant secretary for Indian Affairs. He has dedicated much of his career to public service and tribal leadership. From 2009 to 2021, he served as the executive director of the North Dakota Indian Affairs Commission, working closely with three governors and 23 tribal chairs to address critical issues facing Indian Country in North Dakota. He has served as both a teacher and coach, working with students at the Pierre Indian Learning Center and Turtle Mountain Community High School. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Haskell Indian Nations University and is a graduate of the Bush Foundation Native Nations Rebuilders Program and Executive Education at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Additionally, Scott earned a bachelor's degree in business and a master's degree in management from the University of Mary.
