The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) supports the just and sustainable development of offshore wind through a range of programs aimed at providing funding; supporting national and regional planning efforts; and supplying technical assistance and other resources. DOE collaborates with other agencies to facilitate tribal and community engagement, as well as the assessment of environmental impacts in the Offshore Wind Development process. Additionally, DOE also plays a leading role in research and innovation for turbine system design; supporting supply chain development; and transmission development and planning.
