District I Office is located in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The District covers tribes throughout North and South Dakota, and Nebraska.

District I provides services, from direct to technical assistance to the following tribes: Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, Crow Creek Sioux Tribe, Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, Oglala Sioux Tribe, Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Santee Sioux Tribe, Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate of the Lake Traverse Reservation, Spirit Lake Tribe, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe of North and South Dakota, Three Affiliated Tribes, Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians of North Dakota, Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, and Yankton Sioux Tribe of South Dakota.
