District II is currently staffed with several Special Agents to conduct investigations. These investigators are divided between rural and urban service areas with considerable distances between areas of responsibility due to the checkerboard jurisdictions.
District II is currently experiencing a dramatic increase of gaming enterprises within Indian Country. Oklahoma now has over seventy (70) Indian Casinos located within Indian Country. With these enterprises an insurgence of other crimes have shown to be increasing, such as embezzlement, money laundering and illegal drug distribution.
District II BIA-OLES currently has over one hundred Memorandums of Understanding (MOU's) in effect with county, municipal and tribal law enforcement jurisdictions. The District has implemented a more streamlined process to accommodate the extensive cross-deputation process through a standardized MOU agreement approved by the Oklahoma State Tribal Relations Sub-Committee and the Governor’s office.
