The following documents will aid in meeting the standards, requirements, and processes needed to prepare and administer the harvesting of Indian trust forest products through contracts, permits, or free use harvesting without permits. The guidelines contained in the Harvest of Forest Products Handbook interpret 25 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) § 163 and 53 IAM 3 Harvest of Forest Products Manual.

Use of these documents applies to individually held, Tribal trust and restricted Indian lands under BIA jurisdiction, and to all Indian Affairs (IA) programs and staff charged with the management of these lands. These guiding documents may also be utilized for entities acting on behalf of the United States under contracts, compacts or other agreements or as required by law.

Listed below are forestry documents as referenced in the Harvest of Forest Products Handbook (53 IAM 3H). 3H is being updated and will replace the currently available 3H and 4H. Not all documents described are referenced in the current 3H or 4H, but many are (but may not be referenced correctly). This page will be updated once the updated handbook has been approved.
